Sebastopol House Historic Site Tour
March 05 - 08, 2015

Seguin was once known as "The Concrete City" for constructing many buildings out of one of the first forms of concrete using limestone. This 1856 Greek Revival mansion is one of the country's best preserved examples of 19th-century experimentation with concrete construction. 

Exhibits show the technology used by skilled slaves to build this remarkable house in the years before the Civil War. 

 

 

 

Open: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (closed 12-1 p.m)
Thursday - Sunday

Interpretive Tours at 9, 10, 11 and 1, 2, 3.

FREE Admission!

Sebastopol House is owned and operated by the City of Seguin.

Blue Lotus Winery & Texas Mead Works

The Blue Lotus Winery produces hand crafted wines of the highest quality from native grape stock.

Their Mead is made by fermenting honey misxed with water and is considered the oldest known alcoholic beverage. They produce quality mead using only the finest honey from Texas.

 

Wine Tasting ~ Saturday and Sunday - 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. or by appointment

Moonlight and Roses

Following the museum’s anniversary celebration is the annual Moonlight and Roses event from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Memorial Rose Garden at Walnut Springs Park. The event is free and open to the public.

Duck Fest
May 16, 2015

Sponsored by the Navarro Education Foundation, Duck Fest is the Foundation’s primary fundraiser and consists of a Rubber Duck Race, games for kids, food, and entertainment, all at the beautiful Walnut Springs Park in Seguin. The ducks are “adopted,” numbered, and then the top-finishing ducks in the race win a prize for their adoptive parent. The event will be held May 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m
