Starcke Park

Explore an exceptional public park designed by Robert H.H. Hugman, landscape architect of the famed River Walk in San Antonio. A scenic River Drive meanders beneath towering cypress to give a view of alovely waterfall and a historic early 20th-century hydroelectric plant. Facilities for all ages, includingan 18-hole golf course, tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts. Pavilions, hike and bike path. A Kids' Kingdom playscape, Wave Pool, a Little League baseball-softball complex. Picnic areas throughout the park, many tables roofed, and some with barbecue pits.
Wave Pool Aquatic Center

Located in Max Starcke Park, the municipally owned Seguin Aquatic Center features a 15,000 square-foot wave pool with a zero-depth beach type entry, splash pool, raindrop mushroom and a floating snake sculpture. Volleyball courts, picnic tables, and playground next to pools. Open from the end of May through mid August. The center is also available to rent for private parties.
Birding in Seguin
Seguin is located in a diverse ecological area, bounded on the north by Blackland Prairie, and the Post Oak Savannah to the south and east. Most of the surrounding land is in agricultural use, primarily cattle grazing, providing a varied environment for birds. The Guadalupe River runs through the city. Large pecan and cypress trees line the river, including Max Starcke Park, at 227 acres, the City’s largest park. The walking trail in on the east side along the confluence of Walnut Branch, offers the best public birding for woodpeckers, warblers, bluebirds, and more. The completion of the Walnut Branch Linear Park will offer more riparian trails in the coming years.

Tri City Fliers
is a club which flys model airplanes at the Randolph Auxilliary Air Field east of Seguin on weekends and national holidays, and at the Old Kingsbury Aerodrome in Kingsbury seven days a week, weather permitting. TCF also holds several regional and national meets featuring free flight and radio control aircraft. Guests are always welcome, visiting pilots
must have an AMA license and fly with a club member. TCF is also available to help with school, scout, and other civic organizations' programs. For more information contact the TCF website at or call 830-639-4550.
Old Kingsbury Aerodome
hosts several aviation activities and organizations. Vintage Aviation rebuilds and re-creates museum-quality aircraft from the early era of flight, when wood, wire and weave were the main building materials. Vintage Aviation Historical Foundation is organized to bring the public in contact with these old aircraft thru displays, newsletters, guest speakers and fly-ins. VAHF is currently raising funds to develop the Pioneer Flight Museum which will enable visitors to interact with the earliest days of flight. One of the first exhibits will be a Wright Brothers Flyers replica. The Old Kingsbury Aerodrome also maintains a 2300 foot grass runway, for permission to land contact OKA at 830-639-4550. The Tri-City Flyers are also located at OKA and offer a 600 foot grass runway for model aviation. OKA is located on FM 1104, halfway between I-10 and Hwy 90. Scenic lakes
With opportunities for recreational boating, fishing, water skiing. Public boat ramp under I-10 gives access to Lake Placid.
